Coach Charley Cipriani’s squad made an unexpected City of Palms appearance last December, stepping in on less than a week’s notice to play Owasso (Okla.) in a Challenge Round game on the tournament’s final day. Now, the Seahawks are the opening act, led by returning 6-3 JR Jiovanni Legros (11.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.4 apg) and transfer 6-4 SOPH Jayden Labbe (7.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg at Oasis). … Cape Coral is 12-18 in 12 City of Palms Classics, but hadn’t played a tournament game in 20 years until last season.
