The nation’s No. 1-ranked player in his class, 6-7 SR A.J. Williams (31.8 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 5.4 blocks), was a dominating force from beginning to end last winter, from a 34-point, 15-rebound effort in the season opener to a 53/18 line in ELCA’s 90-76 victory over Union Grove in the 4A-Region 2 championship game. He has since reclassified to became the nation’s No. 5 senior – and head coach Loyd Andretti loaded up with offseason reinforcements, notably 6-9 JR Peter Julius (15 ppg, 11 rpg at Mt. Bethel Christian) and 6-3 JR Culen Browne (28 ppg at The Wilson Academy) … Another big man, N.C. State recruit 6-11 SR Jamil Robinson, made the move from Dutchtown to ELCA a year ago, but was sidelined by a broken foot.
